Most people have fond memories of their high school prom. Unlike most extra-curricular
high school activities, the prom is something in which the overwhelming
majority of students choose to participate. While it's certainly probable
that most of the students from Oswego East High School who attended last
years prom will have wonderful memories of their experience, it's
doubtful that the students who had the misfortune of traveling in the
party bus driven by Richard Madison will reflect upon their prom experience
with the same degree of fondness.
Drunk Driving Accidents
To most parents, the fear of their child being involved in an alcohol related
driving accident, is a significant concern. The safety of having a professional,
adult, - and most importantly, sober - driver can justify the expense
of paying for a limousine for their children's prom. It's generally
thought of as a smart investment given the high rate of alcohol consumption
that frequently occurs in conjunction with most proms. Madison, apparently
did not wish to be left out of the prom related festivities and decided
to start the night off right with a round of heavy drinking before making
the rounds to pick the kids up in his party bus. The passengers reported
that the bus was swerving erratically. "I can't believe it. It's
crazy," Tyler Bower said. "We had no idea that he was drunk,
but were concerned because we were in a ditch at some point." Bower
was one of 23 Oswego East High School students on board the party bus.
Other kids also reported that Madison was driving like a complete maniac.
While Madison was swerving all over the roadway, some of the passengers
called their parents on their cell phones who then alerted the authorities.
Thankfully, Madison was pulled over prior to any accident occurring. When
arrested, Madison had a blood alcohol level of .222, nearly three times
the legal limit in Illinois.
Drunk driving related accidents are also all too common in Las Vegas. The
degree to which people drink and drive in Clark County is incredible.
Frequently drunk drivers cause
accidents where other persons are seriously injured. If you or a loved one finds
yourself in that unfortunate situation, it is important to have the right
lawyer so that your rights are protected and that you can receive the
compensation that you deserve. Call the attorneys at Oronoz, Ericsson
